Once Upon A Farm Alpacas - Shearing Day
April 24, 2010 9:00am - 3pm Come enjoy the excitement on shearing day. Watch the alpacas receive their yearly haircut and go from super fluffy to sleek and slim. There will also be several crias (baby alpacas) to see. We will be offering several mini seminars throughout the day - Alpaca Fiber, Yarn and Artistry at 11:00 am, General Introduction to Alpacas at 1:00pm, The Business of Alpacas at 2:00pm. Fiber artists will be demonstrating & answering your questions about fiber arts throughout the day. The Farm Store will be open to purchase your special alpaca garments. Mention the website for a 5% savings. This is a rain or shine event as we have indoor facilities. *** Do you have an interest in alpacas? Contact us about helping with the alpacas for the day. We would be happy to have you learn how to handle alpacas and care for them on shearing day.

Once Upon A Farm Alpacas - Fall Alpaca Farm Tour Day
September 25 & 26, 2010 Hours TBD (1pm - 5pm). Always wanted to stop by, but have never called to set a time, then this is the day to come by for a visit. We will be working with the alpacas through out the day and having various seminar topics to discuss with you to help you learn as much information about raising alpacas and the business of alpacas. Come learn from Jen and her 20+ years of breeding, raising, and showing animals including 8 years with the alpacas. Learn about different business aspect from Randy who is a CPA, enjoys corporate Finance and anyone who wants to talk business. We would love to help you make the right decisions for you!

* Heartland Classic Alpaca Show, Saturday and Sunday, October 4-5, 2010 in Indianapolis, Indiana. (contact us for Directions) We will be attending and showing several of our alpacas and client's alpacas. Stop by to learn about the alpacas and have a good time with us!

Autumn Alpaca Affair
Saturday, October 11, 2010 9am - 5pm. Location to be determined. (contact us for Directions and an informational flyer) This is a wonderful learning event in its 7th year. We have put together a series of seminar topics and many different alpaca breeders and of course alpacas! This is a must for anyone looking into purchasing alpacas.

Once Upon A Farm Alpacas - Fall Open House

Saturday November 13, 2010 9:30am - 3:00pm. Come by the farm to visit with the fall crias and all the alpacas as well as see and purchase the latest in fall apparel. Socks are always in huge demand as there is not another type of sock as comfortable and warm as alpaca socks. Great gifts include scarves, hats, gloves, sweaters, socks and coats. Some items can be ordered, but arrive early for best selection. Fiber artist will be on hand for you to see and ask questions.

*Ag Days in St Joseph County, March 26 - 28, 2010 Contact us for further details at info@onceuponafarmalpacas.com. We will be at the St. Joseph County 4H Fair Grounds with various farm animals for a day of learning the animals, how they are cared for, and what we use them for. This is an indoor event and wonderful for the family to attend. Friday morning is busy with field trips from local schools. Stop by and see the alpacas! Friday 9am - 6pm, Saturday 10am - 6pm, Sunday 11am - 4pm.
