Once Upon A Farm Alpacas

Our Farm

The concept for Once Upon A Farm Alpacas originated from a trip to our local town in Michigan to participate in a Pet Parade.

Our son was under a year old at the time and we were going to have him "walk" our Irish Water Spaniel and Maltese via stroller. The parade entries just in front of us were two alpacas. Jen immediately fell in love with the fuzzy creatures and Randy fell in love with the investment potential.

We established our farm in Indiana in 2000, did our research and purchased alpacas shortly after. Our goal is to breed for the highest quality colored fleece while maintaining health and conformation. Having healthy, quality fibered, conformationally correct animals is the foundation of all our breeding decisions.

As of the end of 2002, we had entered three animals in shows and walked away with a 1st place at AOBA 2002, 1st place at Michigan International Alpaca Fest 2002, 2nd place at Michigan International Alpaca Fest 2001, 2 - 2nd places at Michigan International Alpaca Fest 2002, and 2 - 2nd places at Northern Illinois Alpaca Extravaganza 2002. This is a great beginning.

We have a 10.5 acre farm in northern Indiana, just minutes from the Notre Dame Campus. We are completely dedicated to raising healthy, fine fiber, colored alpacas and would love to have you visit our farm. We enjoy sharing our farm and animals and really want more people to enjoy the "alpaca lifestyle". Call us to set a time to come for a visit to learn more about alpacas and how we can help you.
